Ian’s Top 10 Xbox 360 Games

When I heard the announcement that Microsoft had ceased production on Xbox 360 consoles, I became nostalgic. Nostalgic of all the hours of my life spent playing the plethora of amazing games that appeared on that console. Out of any other console in my life, the Xbox 360 was the one I spent the most time with, and certainly the one I played the most games on. No matter the genre, no matter if it was multiplayer focused or a single player experience, I played a good 3/4 of the consoles library. In Defense of a Choice-Driven Ending

The beginning and ending of a story are often considered the most important parts. The beginning needs to be gripping and captivating, while the end must wrap up the tale and leave the audience satisfied. Despite their importance, storytellers often have difficulty properly executing an introduction and even more difficulty wrapping up a story. Video games are no exception to this. Many complain that the choices they make don't matter in the end or that the final choices aren't properly explained/fleshed out. Two games that seem to take more than there fair share of criticism in this regard are Mass Effect 3 and the recently released Life is Strange.

Unyielding Optimism: Overlooking the Negatives

Have you ever played a game that felt riddled with issues? A game that you felt like you were constantly frustrated by? That would describe my recent experience with Xbox 360 RPG Tales of Vesperia. In the 45 hours that I played the game, I’m pretty sure I spent 20 complaining about it. The story has some weird pacing issues and should have ended 3 different times, the bosses have ridiculous difficulty spikes, you’re forced to take control of characters that you may have never played, save points are spaced weirdly, and you’re forced to fight battles consecutively without saving or healing.
