Get a closer look at this year's Kingdom Hearts collection in advance of E3.
Square Enix has showed off their newest compilation in a new E3 trailer and has formally announced the game for a simultaneous worldwide release in December 2016. The compilation is distinct from the other two in the series in that it is 2/3rds completely new content: in addition to a remaster of the 3DS' great Dream Drop Distance, the collection also includes a CG movie and a playable prologue to Kingdom Hearts III that runs on its new-generation tech and gameplay systems.
Titled A Fragmentary Passage, this prologue takes place after Birth By Sleep but before Kingdom Hearts III. It's similar to what Konami and Kojima Productions did with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes ahead of the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and will likely be 2.8's primary draw for many.
